Happy New Year!

We want to take a moment to thank you for your faithful giving and partnership. Because of your generosity, waves of young people are being sent out from every nation to every nation, carrying the love and message of Jesus.

As we step into this new year, I pray you’ve experienced the goodness of Jesus and taken time to realign with His purposes for your life. Reisa and I were able to dedicate a day to seek God’s wisdom, direction, and focus for the year ahead. It’s so easy for our hearts to drift or grow cold throughout the year, but I’m grateful for moments like these where we can pause, reflect, and realign.

One of the things that always gives me peace during these times is remembering that I don’t need to come up with a grand plan for our lives. God has already revealed His plan in Scripture: to establish His kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven. Our role is simply to seek Him and ask how He wants us to be a part of it.

Here’s a glimpse of what God has been doing through your partnership and a special opportunity to give.

We have over 22 staff with 3 families on our Prayer Room team! Families have sold their houses and moved their kid’s across the world just to be missionaries. I am most excited about how multi-generational and multi-ethnic our team is. Germany, Nigeria, China, Samoa, USA, Canada, Mexico. Pakistan, Philippines and Switzerland are some of the nations represented on our team.

The DTS students we send on outreach start every day in worship and intercessory prayer, and our prayer room staff has the privilege of teaching them to pray and worship, while doing it in cross-cultural contexts. Our teaching is integrated with life on life discipleship and practical tools to use their gifting.

We are partnering with a fellow YWAM ministry on our campus called Symphony of Hope to go on an outreach to Timor-Leste (an island near Indonesia).
Symphony of Hope’s mission is simple: to reach the orphaned, abandoned, refugee, and at-risk children and young people of the world through instrumental music education, evangelism, and discipleship, equipping them to be leaders and musical ambassadors to the nations.

On this trip we will be teaching the children of Timor-Leste for 10 days, 6 hours each day, how to play their national anthem on the violin. At the end of the 10 days, the children will play at the inauguration of the new Israel Embassy in their country. We will be in black suits and ties ready to roll.
Violins have never been brought into Timor-Leste and it as seen as a ‘sophisticated western instrument.’ The beautiful thing is, we are teaching children how to play it– not the most prominent musician in the area, or the most well-known figure, but the ‘least of these,’ as Jesus would put it.

We will be spending a lot of time with these children playing games, sports, and teaching. We will be able to show them the love of Jesus and share the gospel with them, along with establishing strong diplomatic ties for further long term gospel reach.

We need $5,000 for our plane tickets to be able to go on this trip. The opportunity came and we really felt like God was telling us to go. The founder of Symphony of Hope suddenly and tragically died on their last outreach to Papua-New Guinea. He was one of the most amazing men I’ve ever met. Some of his last words was sharing with the students how he was willing to die for the gospel– and he did. He is now with Jesus, celebrating in heaven with his Lord. We feel responsible to collaborate and support the vision God spoke to Uncle Doug. We’ll be going with his daughter and his prodigy Ricky. We are hoping that us going on this trip will allow for our prayer room staff to join us for more service and impact in future trips.

Please pray about giving towards this trip. We will be leaving on February 6 and returning on February 24.

Thank you for your continued support. Your partnership in the great commission is helping to fuel this movement of prayer, worship, and world missions.

Please pray for our health and wisdom as we lead our team.

Philippians 1:3-5
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
