It is hard to believe that Christmas is already here and 2016 is coming to a close! It doesn’t quite feel like Christmas here without the trees and decorations and cool weather but I truly love the beauty of this season.
My time at home was not only amazing but exactly what I needed. I was able to rest, enjoy time with close friends, worship and eat a ton of food. It was so good and necessary for my heart to reconnect with people and enjoy the things I miss most about my life in the States. The time was entirely too short but I came back refreshed and ready to go into a new season.
The month of December is usually slow around the mission with no teams and it is a wonderful time to get caught up, reflect and get ready for what this next year will bring.
As I look back on this past year, I am truly overwhelmed to see all that God has done. This year has been full of some of the hardest and greatest days of my life and I am honored that He has chosen me to live this life. Each day I am here, this place challenges the very core of who I am but it also gives me greater glimpses to His heart and passion for His people. The journey has not been easy but it has been worth it and I know that will be no less true in 2017.
Thank you so much for walking beside me in ministry as I serve here in Haiti. Having you behind me and lifting me up is what keeps me going on the hardest of days. Know that the seed you are sowing is bearing much fruit in the lives of these children and the people in the community I serve.
From all of us here in Haiti, Merry Christmas! May the hope of His birth come alive for you in new ways this holiday season.
