The Fall semester has begun on university campuses all across Philadelphia! This is one of the most exciting times of the year for us as we meet hundreds of new students from across the United States and around the world. Over the past five Sundays alone, we have had first-time visitors to Freedom Church from the following local colleges and universities:
• Temple
• Penn
• Drexel
• Villanova
• Chestnut Hill College
• Rutgers – Camden
• University of the Arts
• Eastern University
• Hope College (Philadelphia Center)
• Thomas Jefferson University
• Community College of Philadelphia
• Delaware County Community College
• University of the Sciences
At Temple we spent several days conducting surveys and handing out bottles of water before we hosted a Welcome night and Game night, a Vision night for new students who are already committed followers of Christ, and a post-service “Temple Sunday” lunch for those Temple students who attended the Sunday service. This past Sunday afternoon at Drexel we offered a Find-a-Church event where I was the keynote speaker and students representing eight different local churches in the area shared briefly about the churches they attend.
Please pray for students during this critical time of the new semester. The connections that students make over the next few weeks can significantly impact them for the next four years. Thank you for partnering with us in this ministry to students. May many become disciples of Jesus Christ.
From Philly,
Gabe and Jennifer
